Early Childhood Specialist

Position: Part-time Early Childhood Specialist at the Main Library in the Youth Services department.

Duties: Extensive programming for pre-school and school-age children and adults; outreach activities; some reference and reader's advisory; some collection development; other duties as assigned. Click here for a complete job description.

Qualifications: Masters degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education preferred, Bachelor degree required. Must have knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices in programming for children from birth to age 5; ability to work with parents, caregivers and educators; strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Hours: 21 hours per week. Includes evening and weekend hours.

Salary: $20.07 to $28.61 per hour

Position: Part-time Library Page at the Main Library in the Circulation department.

Duties: Shelving materials, retrieve book and video drop items, shelf reading.

Qualifications: Must be able to work week nights and at least one Saturday and one Sunday per month. Must have reliable transportation and be at least 14 years of age.

Hours: 12-15 hours per week (We are willing to work around your school schedule and extracurricular activities.).

Salary: $6.50 per hour, Monday through Saturday

Benefits: No fines, free video and book rentals; willing to work around your schedule.
