Julie & Julia
The
film is based on two memoirs, Julie Powell's Julie & Julia
and Julia Child's My Life In France. Amy Adams plays
the role of Julie, a woman whose cubicle life has her down, and so
she decides to prepare all 524 recipes in Child's Mastering the
Art of French Cooking, and then blogs about it. This gives
Powell's life the purpose she was looking for. The parallel story
finds is Julia Child's life jumpstarting when she moved to Paris in
1948 following her husband's job. This move demonstrates
the launching of her culinary expertise. Meryl Streep's
performance as Julia Child is superb. The food shown in the film is
quite appetizing and so it is recommended to eat before watching
the film. Check the catalog for the availability of the film or the
books mentioned above: Julie & Julia @ WBTPL
