- Do not use your real name, if a site asks for a user name, make up a name.
- Keep your user name and password simple, easy to remember for future use.
- Check with your parents before giving out any information about yourself.
- If a web site makes you feel uncomfortable, talk to your parents about it, or show a Librarian.
- If you are designing your own site, do not include where you live or your phone number.
- Talk to your parents to set up rules for going online.
- Do not get together with someone you "meet" online without your parents.
- Do not send anyone your picture or anything else without first checking with your parents.
