Summer Reading is a fun way to keep reading all Summer long! SR is open to Residents of West Bloomfield Township, Keego Harbor, Orchard Lake or Sylvan Lake who have a library card in good standing as well as non-residents of West Bloomfield Township, and their siblings and parents, who are enrolled in the West Bloomfield School District and have a library card in good standing from their home community.
Research shows that children who read five or more books during summer vacation gained more in reading achievement than classmates who took a break from books. The Library’s Summer Reading program makes it easy to fit at least five books, magazines, audiobooks, graphic novels or other reading experiences into your summer plans.
Summer reading runs June 12, 2010 – August 27, 2010. Register for Summer Reading at the Main Library or Westacres Branch beginning Saturday, June 12, 2010; join anytime throughout the summer. Register through the Online Library or at the Library.
